OK...it is possible that I've actually fixed the problem of the perpetual bannings. In my opinion (if we can keep spam under control) this will represent the dawning of a new era here in My Pants. At least, I hope so.

P.S. some of the pictures in signatures are getting ridiculous...please make them smaller. Thank you!

Looking for Alaska Movie

I thought everyone would want to go to imdb.com(if you are signed up). Apparently they have information. I'm not signed up however, so I have no idea what it is.

But I wanted to leave the rest for discussion.

In an ideal world, who would write it? Who would direct? Who would star in it?

For me, I'd have Charlie Kaufman write it, just because he is amazing. I'd say either Wes Anderson, Michel Gondry, or Jason Reitman direct.

As for cast, everything was pretty personal, I just pictured my friends as the characters, because they seemed perfect. And myself as Miles, because I felt like we were pretty much the same. But none of us are actors lol.

As for music and such, I don't think it needs to have a composer, just songs. And there are 2 that I think need to be there.

"Looking for Alaska" by Liane from FiveAwesomeGirls. And "New Slang" by The Shins.

What do the rest of you guys think?

Re: Looking for Alaska Movie

I just thought I'd quickly say, that apparently a lot of people would want Michael Cera as Pudge.

That would be a TERRIBLE idea. Yes, he's a good actor. Yes, he could pull it off. But one, I think he's too old.

And, everyone already knows him from Superbad or Juno, and it would just distract from the movie. I'm not saying they should get complete unknowns, but he's already really well known as playing an awkward teen.

That's what we like to call type-casting. And I just don't think that'd be such a good idea.

Re: Looking for Alaska Movie

Well, I made a whole ideal casting list for Katherines, because John Green said in the addition I have that there's been a movie contract signed and he will be involved in the making of the script and such... But anyway. I agree with Michael Cera not playing Pudge. It'd be too typical, and I think it should be an auditioned new face. Bedhead-like, skinny, nerdy, etc. Typical John Green character.

Re: Looking for Alaska Movie

I would hope they'd have open auditions. I don't think a famous woman, at least not one that I can name at this moment, would really be able to capture her as well. It's sort of something in your soul, that either you need to be able to reproduce or just have. Having it would be much easier. I think the entire cast would be amazing if it was made of fresh faces. So, I really hope that they have open auditions. Also, I really want to audition. I don't honestly think I have a chance, but I want to at least try. I mean, I know it's gutsy (for the film makers to hire all new actors for the cast) but god it would be the best thing ever.
