OK...it is possible that I've actually fixed the problem of the perpetual bannings. In my opinion (if we can keep spam under control) this will represent the dawning of a new era here in My Pants. At least, I hope so.

P.S. some of the pictures in signatures are getting ridiculous...please make them smaller. Thank you!

Paper Towns

Ok, So i litterally JUST finished reading paper towns. I have read An Abundance of Katherines as well as Looking for Alaska, and both of them I couldn't put down. The problem with not putting a book down is that when you are finished their is so much to think about that I dont sleep for 3 days. All 3 of John Greens books are overloaded with literary and worldl.i..ary..  references that I mostly just ignored them, because I didnt recognize half of them, and simply applied their meaning to the circumstance in the book. But with Paper Towns I actually let sink in. Anyway, It took me forever to find a place to actually discuss John's books. I will just say whats in my head right now and hope to get some responses for discussion! Firstly: I wish it never ended! You know when you read those books or watch those movies that end at the perfect moment for the book, at that moment where, if it kept going, it would nothing more to the story? I just wish I could then shut my eyes and continue reading, or making up the story, or even living the story at that perfect moment. I wish Q could have gone with Margo, I wish Q could grow and Margo could realize that its OK to be human and to live a life that continues humanity. Maybe I am just a sucker for those kind of things. I realize these are fictional characters.. but it is obvious that I would be continuing their story imagining them as the people I imagine them to be, and not the people they really would be. Anyway, Post something here! Thanks

Re: Paper Towns

Ha, I know what you mean about not wanting it to end. I was the same way, I wish he could write more, but then again..
I think some endings are better left ambiguous, or not continued, because it makes it better that way. There's no disappointment in a sequel(not that I think John would do bad) and you can kind of think about it the way you want to.. it's nice that way.

Re: Paper Towns

Yessss. I love(d) that book so much. Katherines is still my favorite, however. But I like how John took such an ordinary story idea, and twisted it into something marvelous, with everything from black Santas to Omniticonary (sp?). It was so genius and original, and made me crack up in class. I finished it in Sunday, and I couldn't stop smiling, and I'm still thinking about it everyday. I don't know how you do it Mr. Green, but you definitely deserve more novelity for your brilliance than you already receive. Kudos.
