Musical NerdFighters are extra awesome.
I saw Spring Awakening back in April, original cast, before they got all the Tonys and became impossible to get tickets to. Wasn't impressed, to tell you the truth. Too depressing for my taste. I can't name ONE truly happy song in it. There's 'My Junk', but... the lyrics? "I go up to my room, turn the stereo on... Shoot up some you, and the you is some song." ...In 19th century Germany... I dunno, I can't get into it.
I'm a sworn Rent fan, despite its imperfection. More than 3 years now, which is the longest I've had any obsession.
Other musicals made of awesome: [title of show], 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Avenue Q, Spamalot, Across the Universe, Reefer Madness, By Jeeves, Chess (my guilty pleasure), Hair, The Last Five Years, Les Misérables, Hairspray, The Rocky Horror Show, tick tick... BOOM!, You're a Good Man Charlie Brown, Wicked, Phantom of the Opera... The list goes on.
okay, i absolutely LOVE your signature and your icon. AMAZING. Rent is actually my life, no joke. ![]()

I also love pretty much all of the musicals you like.

Oh my gosh, I love broadway also! I was in high school productions of Big River and Into the woods! (I was rapunzel! haha) I saw Wicked on broadway and it was like..life changing. I wish I had enough money to go back and watch all different kinds of shows. I'd really love to actually be on broadway one day.

omg this topic blows me away!!!! i see Wicked, i see RENT, and best of all i see SPRING AWAKENING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the best show ever! but the stupid strike is still going on so unless it gets called off like, tomorrow, and john and hank rush to see it i dont think it will happen.

I've got Spring Awakening tickets for next month! I'm so excited! I simply adore Broadway, and I just love the Spring Awakening soundtrack. Avenue Q was great, and Light in the Piazza with Matthew Morrison was so beautiful in a completely opposite way. Drowsy Chaperone is one of my favorites! Spelling Bee and Spamalot were funny like crazy. Rent was nice, but my Roger was hoarse, so that was sad. I'm also seeing Young Frankenstein, so that's exciting.
Broadway is made of awesome.

I'm going to see Rent next month when it comes to Connecticut, I'm so excited!
Other of my favorite musicals: Wicked (which i'm going to see AGAIN in may), The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (I'm sad it's closing in January!), Avenue Q, Spring Awakening, Aida, The Lion King (my first musical!), Les Miserables, Evita, Tick Tick...Boom! (Just got the CD today!), and, of course, RENT!

Don't worry, the strike has been over for awhile. All of the shows are running again.
I'm seeing Wicked in less than two days!!!! I havn't seen it in two years because I live in Missouri and have to wait for the tours. I'm so excited!!!!!
I've come to the conclusion that I could give up food, water and shelter as long as I had the Spring Awakening, Rent and Wicked soundtracks. They are all you really need, you know?

Spring Awakening is AMAZING!!
Haven't had the chance to see it live, but I have a friend going to school in Long Island who has bootleg connections, so I have seen it . . . that's completely on the downlow however . . . ![]()
But the show is incredibly tragic and beautiful and just . . . guh. Brilliant.

Yay for Broadway! I love most musicals but my all time favorites are: RENT, Avenue Q, Cabaret, Gypsy, and The Life!

I'm pretty classic with my favorite Broadway show : West Side Story. I adore West Side Story! It's amazing. But I also love Pippin, Sweeney Todd (love born years before Johnny Depp entered the picture), and Into the Woods. Rent and Wicked are also great, of course. I've never really liked Spring Awakening, but I haven't seen so I can't really judge.
But overall, I love ANYTHING Sondheim. Sondheim!!! ![]()

Oh man. John and Hank HAVE to see Spring Awakening. Not only was it the first musical I saw on Broadway, but I also got to see the entire original cast. And that musical is just........ Whoa. It's too hard to put into words.

DUUUUUUUUDE
Yes to theatre nerdfighters!!! Spring Awakening is in my top five probably along with Wicked Sweeney Todd Into The Woods and Children of Eden. I'm so on the idea of them seeing it. One has not experienced rock opera epic phenomena without it (even if they seen Rent.)

Heck yes, Broadway Nerdfighters!

I have been waiting to see Spring Awakening for ages! Unfortunately, with me living in Australia, I don't think I'll see it anytime in the near future.

Haven't seen Spring Awakening, but I've got a lot of Broadway faves . . . not even sure I could list them all. >.<
But alright: to all the Renthead Nerdfighters . . . is it just me, or could Hank put on a scarf, jump up on a table and sing La Vie Boheme? It could just be me . . . the glasses get me . . . *shrugs*
*wanders off lip syncing La Vie Boheme*

Oh, yes, Broadway Nerdfighters! I'm just gearing up to see the Spring Awakening tour at the end of the month and can't wait. I'm definitely excited to see it live. Excited enough that I actually read the original play which... differs from the musical in certain important aspects. I don't think that the "I Believe" scene will ever be the same to me. (Has anyone else read the play?)
Listing favorite shows is hard as there are really not that many musicals I don't like: Les Mis is definitely at the top of my list and the rest are in no particular order. South Pacific, In the Heights, RENT, Beauty and the Beast (in my opinion, the best Disney musical), BARE, A New Brain, Parade (and all Jason Robert Brown), Chess, West Side Story, Jekyll & Hide, Scarlet Pimpernel, Sunset Boulevard Kiss Me Kate and while I'm not familiar enough with his actual shows the Cole Porter songbook is a favorite of mine. The same could be said for the Rodgers and Hart songbook (particularly when sung by Ella). And then not exactly Broadway, but I also really like Notre-Dame de Paris, Der Glöckner von Notre Dame, and Kristina fran Duvemala (foreign musicals FTW?)
Oh, and non-musical Broadway I'd have to say The History Boys and The Violet Hour are great, and I really want to get the scripts for The Seafarer, August: Osage County, and Coast of Utopia.

I'm a total Broadway nerdfighter, but sadly I haven't been to New York in the last three years so I haven't seen Spring Awakening.
Why did my grandma die and cut off my New York connection? Why?
On that note, I have heard a few songs from it and I think that Life is a Bitch (or something very similar) is hilarious. I haven't listened to it in a very long time due to me lacking an mp3 of it and only listening to it on youtube when I remember and am not listening to something else, so that's why I can't fully recall the title.
Other Broadway musicals that I am fully more nerdy about are too extensive in their numbers to list.
EDIT: The title of the song is Bitch of Living. Because I'm an asshat.

Broadway Nerdfighters!
I love musicals. Although I have yet to see very many of them.... Never been to NY, though I wish I could go. I have seen RENT. It was a school edition performance of it. Even though they were all teenagers, they were so awesome. I want to see Wicked, but the closest I've gotten to seeing Wicked was stuff on YouTube. More of the ones I really like (but may or may not have seen) include You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, Avenue Q, Phantom, and... A lot more.

BROADWAY NERDFIGHTERS FTW!
My top 6 [that I've seen] are Wicked, Rent, Avenue Q, Les Mis, Spelling Bee, and Aida
I want to see Spring Awakening... and I would love anything that involved Hank and John and Broadway. The only issue is how to get them both to NYC =/
