OK...it is possible that I've actually fixed the problem of the perpetual bannings. In my opinion (if we can keep spam under control) this will represent the dawning of a new era here in My Pants. At least, I hope so.

I lost the game

There are many different ways that one may become a Nerdfighter. Magic the gathering, Being able to balance a bunch of horizontal pennies on top of a single vertical penny, having a spontaneous argument triggered by the mention of the word pirate and/or ninja in the same sentence, color guard, band geek, ecogeek, playing at least 2 hours of tetris every night for a week straight until you realize that when you start seeing tetriminos (as the blocks are being known as now) falling down from the top of the screen when you arent playing tetris. But i digress, there is a game that i play and my fellow nerd friends play that is very frustrating. If anyone ever says "i lost the game" and you become mad at them for some reason, it is because you know of the game. and if you do not know of the game, then you can find out about it from th appropriately named www.losethegame.com . I have a hunch that most Nerdfighters already know about the game and i figured that i should see if Hank and John know of it. Seeing as they have yet to mention it in one of their videos, i don't think they know of it. i really would like to see if they would start to play this game. Here is a general outline of what the game is.
         
there are only a few simple rules of "The Game"
1. if you think about The Game, you lose The Game
2. you cannot win The Game
3. if you DO lose The Game, you must announce it aloud in some form be it text or verbally.

I think two amendments should be added (and am not playing until they are).

Section
4.   To be included in the list of those playing the game an individual must announce that they are playing the game.
  a.  a person is immune from the first 3 rules of the game for one day after completing step 4.

5. Posting in this thread constitutes remembering the game - as the name of the forum clearly points it out.  The thread can get quite old because of this. 
a. If you lose you are freely allowed to post in the thread about potential "not-losers" or any other game/player based conversations.  This may have the added benefit of reminding other people of the game, and hastening losses.

If we add those, I'd be up for it.

OH MY GOD.  Why did you post this.  I'm so sick of The Game, you have no idea.  I always lose when it's least convenient.  Thanks for ruining my day. 

Though "I lost The Game in your pants" is an interesting twist.

AAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!! The Game is the most frustrating thing in the world! Last year, every single day at school my friend would greet us with the phrase 'I lost the game!' I haven't lost it for months!

OHMYGOD.  I lost the game.

I made a video once, where I was ranting about a possible irrational fear of myspace...  and lost the game, in the video.  So I explained the game in the video.

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who knows about it.

I'd never heard of this game until i read this yesterday, but i walked upstairs into my daughter's birthday party, and said, "i lost the game" and almost everyone looked at be blankly, but one guy said,... "what?... what?  wait a minute, game?...OH!  AARRGGHH!"  It took him 3 full seconds.

Then we had to explain, and for the rest of the party, every so often you'd hear, "i lost the game" followed by a chorus of AARRGHHs.

I KNOW OF THE GAME! I LOST IT TODAY TWICE!
My camp, Waycross, plays the game. We've had the worst losing streak in history since November 18th.
